Terms & Conditions

After reading the articles and realizing how we are affected by just not reading something as simple as the terms and conditions, has made me a little nervous when applying for things or just tapping I agree. Although it may seem terrifying to many individuals after hearing or seeing this I feel like many of us aren't going to change the way we read terms and conditions because its too long and its boring. One of the articles (NPR) stated the average user would take 40 mins a day to read all of that. When considering the time many of us often are in a rush when doing things that require these terms so we often are just trying to get straight to the point.

After watching the video made me actually want to take the time to not sign “my life” away to everything because of the examples she used. Especially, when she said something about adopting a child. Not only has this changed my perspective on terms and conditions but also reading the Terms of Service Didn't Read made me realize that some of the apps or companies that we actually trust with our information are keeping it or giving it out to third parties. Like PayPal, Youtube, Apple, Spotify and Amazon. So, in the future I’m going to try and skim or read the terms and conditions before tapping I agree.
